ooc: Oh my gosh, I’m flattered. Although Idk if this is supposed to be IC or OOC so I’ll just do OOC.
Mary Margaret thought that was a bit strange for about half a second, before dismissing it. There were many things she herself had yet to try, too, after all.
“It’s getting warmer, so we should be able to go to the lake soon without catching pneumonia.” She says, before realizing how that sounded.”I mean—well—not “we”—I mean, uh, unless you’re comfortable with that.”
She internally facepalms. She never seems to fail at making a fool of herself, does she?
“I’m glad to hear that, Shadow. There’s actually a festival coming up in a few weeks,” She tells him, trying to change the subject from her awkward social skills.
“Y-you’ve never had apple pie?” She stutters out, her eyes wide . “Why, that’s just not right! I’m glad granny’s will be your first experience, I have yet to try a better slice of pie anywhere else.”
She thinks about his question for a moment, clasping her hands in front of her on the table-top. “Hm….well, there’s a lake to swim in, a movie theater….bars, if you drink—I don’t myself, so I can’t vouch for their quality—and many little festivals littered throughout the year.”
“I do too. You do realize that now we have to get Granny’s apple pie, right? It’s absolutely divine.” She tells him, smiling as he opens the door for her, cheeks heating slightly. “Such a gentleman,” She teases lightly, saying hello to a smiling Ruby and leading him over to her usual booth in the corner of the diner.
“I can show you where it is after the Diner, ” She says, as they begin slowly walking to Granny’s. “It’ll be the first stop on our tour, before the Tro—Toll bridge. If that’s okay with you, of course. ” She adds hastily, in case he’d really like to go to the bridge first thing.
“The Diner indeed, but she also runs the only inn in town.” Mary Margaret says, sliding her hands into her cardigan pockets. “I would normally refuse, but…..honestly speaking Granny’s hot chocolate sounds divine right now. So, I’ll have to say yes to your offer, and thank you.”
“Troll bridge, Troll bridge….”She trails off, brows furrowing slightly before a small grin lights up her face. “Oh , you must mean the old Toll bridge . Funny you called it that, a student of mine calls it the same thing.” She says, thinking of Henry and his book. “It’s no trouble at all, Shadow. Would you like to go now, or do you have to check in to Granny’s or anything first….?”
